Our Indian History is rich in stories written by Indian Authors, whether about our historical golden periods, scriptures, sculptures, or any King or Queen. For thousands of years, we have had an abundance of stories. From timeless epics like the Mahabharat and Ramayan to the furious battles of Shivaji Maharaj and Sambhaji Maharaj, our history is filled with numerous sagas and epics.
Indian stories have always been rich in literature that touches the heart, inspires change, and transforms society. We have seen a different assessment of Indian authors because their stories directly touch the souls and are impactful. Instead of just narration, they bring emotions, experiences, and ideas that connect with the whole world.
This Blog is all about my 5 Indian Authors, whom I admire and have inspired me personally. Their way of seeing the world, their writing styles and ideologies, their impact, and how they leave a lasting impact are what attracted me to them.
5 Indian Authors Who Inspire Me –
I am mentioning 5 Indian Authors who inspire me to the core and have started seeing the world as they saw it. They are –
- The Visionary Author – Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam –

I want to give first place to our former President and scientist, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Who doesn’t know him? The whole world knows him and follows his teaching. He was not only the best scientist but also a remarkable author. His books Wings of Fire, India 2020, and Ignited Mind encouraged reading and transformed many youth.Â
His writing style was the main USP, as he never wrote to complete, but to make people adapt his teachings and terminologies, and that’s why he is among my top 5 Indian Authors. He used to write straightforwardly with a purpose, vision, and hope that inspired many people to give their best in everything. Wings of Fire, His Autobiography, left me speechless as it showed the true struggle of how he was unshakable from the beginning, and the challenges he faced with utmost dedication.Â
- The Master Storyteller – R.K. NarayanÂ

Listing top authors and not mentioning R.K. Narayan is like creating without creativity. No one can ever forget how he made the fictional town called Malgudi. His choice of simplicity in language writing inspired me, as even after being a giant author, he never changed his audience. His precision followed him in going in-depth with storytelling.Â
What made him a legend in writing is how he wrote about pain, pleasures, struggles, quirks, and joyous moments of ordinary people, because most writers write for wealthy people. Still, only a few write from an ordinary person’s perspective. His magical writings turned everyday into magical because what I learnt from his writings was that, to showcase your points, you don’t need high-end complex language. His books, like The Guide, Swami and Friends, and Malgudi Days, are still alive in my imagination and heart.Â
- Voice of Truth – Arundhati RoyÂ

Ever heard of a poet whose writings are like music? Then you missed reading the books of Arundhati Roy. Her language directly hits the heart due to its honesty, and when she writes about Love, family, caste, and politics, everything is daring, delicate, and genuine. Her Book, The God of Small Things, still has me mesmerized. She is fearless, and that’s what made me her fan. After winning the Booker Prize, she stayed unchanged in her writings for injustice, unspoken truths, and questioning authorities.Â
She could have focused on literature, but stayed rigid on her platform and choice. Her speeches and essays are the base of her fiction, and she is the only one who told us that authors are not only for entertainment but also to provoke, change the generation, and challenge the people doing injustice. She is my favourite because of her genuineness and unshakable attitude.
- Poet of the Soul – Rabindranath TagoreÂ

One who taught me that his writing isn’t just about the book’s pages, but to build the legacy of ideas, is our Rabindranath Tagore. His precious vision for creativity and education in Shantiniketan inspires me, and his collection Gitanjali still attracts me to read it repeatedly. He was the fearless original writer because during his era, when colonial people were dominating indians, he was the one who stood against them with his writings uplifting Indian Culture and Thoughts in young minds.Â
He inspired writers, dreamers, and thinkers, and was the first Asian Nobel laureate in Literature. His writings, which express spiritual, philosophical, and human emotions, inspired and attracted people like me to his poems, short stories, and songs.Â
- India’s Own Millionaire Mentor – Mr. Darshan SomaiyaÂ

Being a student of his still inspires me, and the Pearson I became under his mentorship is what made me unique. Mr. Darshan Somaiya, India’s Own Millionaire Mentor, ’s Ultimate Millionaire Blueprint, immediately became a trending and best-selling book on Amazon. I was always inspired by his ideology and mindset toward the best.Â
His book Ultimate Millionaire Blueprint is still with me, with his signature and my name written on it. It was all about avoiding distractions to do the best, working on your goals rather than procrastinating proactively, and shifting from a mediocre to a millionaire mindset. I often read his book when I get stuck or start procrastinating again to snatch myself away from that zone.Â
Why do these Indian Authors inspire me?
Each one of these Indian Authors has their own way of writing and has genres followed by a unique way of storytelling. One thing that is common among all of them is that they have inspired youth in all scenarios. I never felt bored while reading their writings because the way they wrote really touched my soul and kept me engaged throughout the read.Â
I always prefer reading to the point content instead of a few writers who write to complete their book, which destroys the decorum.Â
