How to write Travelogue Blogs

Travelling is one of people’s favourite activities, allowing you to get out of your comfort zone and explore the world. Traveling can be about anything, such as a picnic spot, a special place in your city, another town, or another country. When in live, Travelling Vlogs are popular, in writing, Travelogue Blogs are in the trend.

Travelogue Blogs not only allow you to store your memories in written formats but also become a pathway for your emotions and feelings to reach a greater audience with the same enthusiasm with which you wrote the blog. Travel blogs and writing have recently seen an extensive change; they have become a powerful way to narrate your stories in words to make them epic sagas.

Your writings for Travelogue Blogs provide a virtual ride to the fairway lands wherever you travel, to the readers, and make them feel they are with you there. But to be frank, these travel blogs aren’t like other blogs with niche-oriented content, but they must be storytelling, a saga-type content, and a complete, point narration. This blog is a step-by-step guide on how to write a Travel blog, and you can make them feel that, via your writing, they are there with you. Let’s understand these in main pointers –

What is Travelouge Blogs?

Travel Blogging isn’t just about writing down your experience and how catchy, encouraging, and attractive you make your blog. It’s about painting a picture with your words and showing how your journey was there. Let’s understand how to make better Travel Blogs.

  • Be sure about your Purpose and Audience –

Before the start, you must be clear about your purpose and the audience you want to focus on. You must be sure whether it’s for people under 18 or above 19, for travellers or visitors. Your Travel Blog must not be all about a guidebook that many are; it must be full of insights, emotions, experiences, stories, and moments. You must blend your blog into your unique perspectives and objectives for the reader to understand the main points you want to assist them if they plan to visit those places.

  • Give your Blogs a Captivating Hook –

Instead of making it bogus, make it memorable because the first impression is the last. Ignore the build-up; since the first paragraph, you must start telling your story to your readers. Make it like a scene where readers can start imagining themselves there. If it’s a food blog, make them feel the taste of that particular food from the first paragraph only.

How to Structure Your your Journey?

  • Give your story a needful Structure –

Travelogue blog isn’t like any other niche-oriented blog. Still, it must be structured well to engage your readers with all your experiences during the travel, from setting up the scene and the reason behind opting for this destination, to determining the route and travel assistance you took to reach that destination. Then, highlight your experiences and the places you visit, their history and USP, the culture they follow, the food they eat, and how people there were with you, which means their interaction.

After that, consider pausing and writing about what you learned there and the best time for the visit, so that the people planning the visit can understand the base and plan their vacations.

  • Ignore Facts and focus only on StoryTelling –

Instead of facts like other niche-oriented blogs, focus on your journey’s storytelling. If you visit any landmark, instead of simply saying that we stayed there, tell a story about the environment, how the skies were at that time, the people’s amusement there, and at which location and time you clicked photos there.

  • Add Information and Insights on your Story –

Your storytelling must be about the location, not the area. Understand the difference. Add insights and information about your visit and travel experience, followed by any specific history, the time and reason of origin, and its dating history. Make it look like you are reviewing it entirely and get viewers excited about what that location is all about.

  • Give your Blog a descriptive detailing –

Descriptive detailing refers to all the things and moments you came in contact with and describes your experience from the start. For example –

You visited Rajasthan’s Jaipur. Highlight how you felt after touching handcrafted items, the textures of Mahals there, how you loved the city’s historic values, and how people follow the tradition to this day. Write about the food taste there, your favourite dish, and your first-time experience visiting National Handloom.

  • Don’t forget to mention your Personal Experiences –

The main USP of any Travelogue Blog is how you add your personal experiences into your Blog. Instead of making it like an itinerary of your visit, make it approachable and encouraging for readers to get engaged in how your time was spent there.

Make it personal. Add how you interacted with the people there, whether you were lost there for some time, or whatever your experiences were, and whether those met your expectations.

What’s Must in the Travelogue Blogs?

  • Multimedia in your Travelogue is a must –

When your Travelogue Blog includes multimedia, it becomes catchy, engaging, exciting, and anticipatory because you are trying to take readers to those moments you have spent there. With images, photos, and audio, you share your moments with the ones who love watching you do this.

Through multimedia, you not only share moments, but these are the evidence of how beautiful and soothing those places are, and how and what readers can do when they visit. Also, adding maps will assist them the most during their visits as your memories will be their findings.

  • Honesty is the best policy –

If you want people to accept you as their regular travel blogger, be genuine, be true, and write with honesty. If you find anything inadequate, mention it instead of sugarcoating everything. Whether you were unhappy with the pricing, the place environment, or the people’s behaviour, say it because your Travelogue is acting like a Spy Camera.

  • Keep your Travelogue concise and Polished –

Make your blog polished and concise. Don’t just add things, lines, and phrases to increase the numbers. Don’t just mix things up. Keep your points and stories one after another to avoid confusion, use phrases at the right time, and make it natural.

  • Don’t forget to mention key takeaways –

Like the first impression is the last one, your conclusion must be action-oriented and call to action. You must mention your recommendations for any particular spot in that location, what you felt there, and how you felt there, and ask people to visit the spot based on their preferences and comforts.

  • Optimize it for SEO –

If you want your Travelogue to reach a larger audience, optimize it for SEO to enhance its grandeur. Yes, you must also work on these things if you write it online. Use bullet points instead of paragraphs, short paragraphs, images, and videos with alt text and headings.

When you write a Travelogue, you aren’t just writing; you are virtually providing a tour to your readers of the places and experiences you have faced. Instead of making it like any other blog, focus on how you can make it a storytelling and live-action film while destroying the 3rd wall.
